Managing Sound on Conference Calls
Offering 30 Days of Playback Listening - Audio Podium
-
What is Audio Podium? It is where you punch in some numbers at the beginning of the conference
call and record your call so callers can call back into the recording playback system
line later and
listen to the call. At Seek Solutions, your recording is available on our system for at
least 14 days
from when you make your recording.
-
Think about the possibilities. You can offer the
playback to clients or colleagues who can't make a call.
Or, offer a free class
and let those who can't make it listen in later.
It is a wonderful selling tool for teleclasses with multiple dates where students
may miss a class here and there - tell them that
they can always make it up for 14 days after the class. The playback system is available
24/7. (If you don't want to share this information, you don't have to do so.)
-
Audio podium is available on certain systems, so be sure to ask us if you want a
24/7 conference bridge line with this access.
-
Audio podium is also available through Seek Solutions on an hourly basis
as well at Prepay Conference Bridge w/Audio Podium. You can
purchase conference call time in advance, by the hour, that includes the audio podium,
with 14 days of playback feature.
-
Hard Copies Can Be Made Using Audio Podium with Seek Solutions

Do it Yourself
If there is less riding on the quality or accuracy of your recording you can always do it yourself. There is
a variety of equipment out there if you are technically oriented (please don't ask us Seek Solutions, it is not
our specialty - thanks!).
Companies such as Radio Shack often have a simple cassette recorder with a phone hook up that you can use
(the whole set up is about $50 USD - ask them about it).
Or, there are all kind of computer programs and what not out there! This kind of thing is
more advanced and a lot of work, so that is why just recording with our lines is so easy.

Food for Thought when Recording Conference Calls
-
Make sure participants do not tape the call with out explicit permission from the
instructor and all participants as it is not only illegal, but there may be
intellectual property involved.
-
If you are the teleclass instructor or call organizer, and recording the call, be sure to inform all participants as such.
You may want to create your own recording release agreement if you plan to use your recording
for commercial purposes.
